Overview: The successful candidate will support our business by working within the high volume educational sector to source and staff high volume projects while also providing generalist support to our professional employee population.

This is a 5 month temporary assignment located at our Iowa City campus. Benefits are not offered due to the nature of the assignment, but getting your foot in the door will open you to new and exciting opportunities. Responsibilities:

  • Manage recruiting campaign through the following: participate in the development of necessary advertising, screen candidates, schedule interviews; conduct interviews. Evaluate test/placement results and reference sources, when applicable.

  • Meet hiring numbers with as minimal agency usage as necessary.

  • Responsible for maintaining a thorough understanding of HR procedures in regard to internal management systems, payroll, and other departmental systems, as they are updated throughout the year; know and adhere to departmental policy and established deadlines.

  • Understand and adhere to company policies and state and federal labor laws applicable to assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Ability to deal with employees and managers on sensitive issues related to employee relations, performance issues, terminations and accommodations.

  • Provide employment support to business partner including; internal requisitions, external recruiting, interviewing, evaluating candidates and checking references, as necessary.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of a formal degree.

  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience in Human Resources or related Administrative function.

  • Exposure to high volume recruiting, temporary project recruiting or agency staffing experience highly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of HR practices and procedures

  • Proven ability to handle employee relations issues.

  • Adherence to confidentiality and nondisclosure requirements.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Strong computer skills including data entry, email, spreadsheets, and databases. Exposure to HRIS and/or ATS experience very helpful.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, to meet both evening and day demands, is critical.

  • In case you missed it: This is a 5 month temporary assignment. It is non-benefit eligible and requires on site attendance. Only candidates local to the area will be considered.
